Zilker Botanical Garden Hours
The garden is open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, daily. The garden closes at 5:00 PM.
Photography Session Timing
Photographers and subjects must be in the garden by 2:30 PM, and all sessions should be completed by 4:30 PM.

Session Pricing
- Photography sessions at Zilker Botanical Garden are available for $50, which includes admission for the photographer plus one individual. Each session is limited to 2 hours. Photo sessions can be booked through May 31, 2025, at this time.

Photographer Guidelines / Know Before You Go
- Photography Services: We do not provide photographers or photography services at the garden.
- Changing Rooms: There are no changing rooms available for guests.
- Garden Beds: Please avoid posing subjects in garden beds. Even if they appear empty, perennial plant shoots are growing just below the surface, and stepping on them could damage or destroy the plants.
- Trees and Rocks: For safety reasons, please do not pose subjects in trees or on high rocks/rock walls.
- Pathways: If you are setting up a subject on the pathways, be sure to leave enough space for other visitors to pass by.
- Garden Terrain: The garden is situated on a hill with varying slopes. We recommend that subjects wear comfortable shoes for walking, and carry any heeled shoes between shots to avoid tripping and ensure ease of movement.
- Prohibited Items: To help keep the garden clean and safe, items such as balloons, confetti, candles/fire, banners, and other similar items are not permitted.
- Closing Time: The garden closes promptly at the posted time. Please plan your session so it concludes at least 30 minutes before the garden’s closing time.
- Additional Guests: The pass covers the photographer plus one guest. Any additional persons will need to purchase individual admission tickets, based on age and residency, prior to entry.
Filming
- If you plan to film or record video at Zilker Botanical Garden, a City of Austin permit is required. Visit this page to find out if your project needs a permit.
